Valerie & Tomás| Married

From the Bride, "Tomás proposed on a beach in Costa Rica, where his extended family is from. Fireworks went off in the distance as we walked back to the house. His family met us with champagne, and his Aunt recited a love poem in Spanish. Eight months later, I am even more in love and ready to marry Tomás and continue our life together! He has proven himself to be loyal, adventure-loving, encouraging, and supportive, and I am so blessed to have him as a friend and lover for life."

When bride, Valerie, or "Val" as she's known by most, was 4 years old, her mom surprised her with a stuffed bunny on Christmas morning. Excited, Val cheered and asked "can we keep him?". Fast forward a few years and Val's love for nature and animals grew beyond toys and to the real thing, so she often spent summers at the Ardenwood Historic Farm with her grandpa, looking at the real bunnies. It was only fitting that when Val and Tomás were looking for wedding venues, that they fell in love with the recently added wedding venue portion of the old historic farm.

Val and her #teamvalsquad, as they call themselves, glammed up at the gorgeous, and also historic, Clairemont Hotel in Berkeley. The 1920s charm of that hotel was the perfect backdrop for such a classic bride.

Val and Tomás were married at their home church in Berkeley and then all the guests made their way down to Fremont for the outdoor reception at Ardenwood.
